REVOLUTION (2012~2014)

For my seventh post, I'll introduce "REVOLUTION".

This is a Science Fiction story based on near future America.  In 2012, there is a blackout of all electricity on earth, causing computers, car electronics and jet engines to be disabled permanently.  As a result, trains and cars stopped running, ships went dead in the water and airplanes plummeted from the sky and crashed.

After 15 years, Ben and his two young children daughter Charlie and son Danny live in the small village of the Monroe Republic.  Ben wears a small pendant around his neck that is the key to finding out what happened fifteen years ago.  One day, militias come to the village to take Ben because they  think he knows about the blackout.  As soon as they come, he gives the pendant to his friends Aaron to protect them from the militias.  When they are taking him, his son Danny shoot them and they shoots too.  One of them and Ben died, so they take Danny instead of Ben. The daughter decides to get back Danny from the militias with Aaron and Maggie.  She is a medical doctor and stepmother.  On the way, they meet Ben's brother Miles and ask him to save them.  He declines the offer, but he was attacked by militias so he decided to go with them.  They find increasingly the key to power restoration.

I think this series is simple and interesting.  You can rent season 1~2, so if you are interested in this series, you should go to TSUTAYA and please watch the trailer on YouTube.

THE 100 (2014~)

For my sixth post, I'll introduce "THE 100".

This is a Science Fiction story based on Kass Morgan's novel and produced by Jason Rothenberg.  The main characters are seven prisoner and all under 18 years old and four assembly members.

This series starts after 97 years of nuclear war that destroyed most of the life on earth.  The residents of twelve space stations put in orbit before the war survived.  The twelve space stations connected and organized the residence station named The Ark.  2400 people survived in the Ark under the guidance of Jaha.  He is the chairman.  The Ark, lacks resources and criminals who are over 18 years old are released in space if they committed a crime.  At the time, someone found a big problem with the life supporting device, so the number of people on the Ark had to be reduced. The chairman declared "100 prisoners under 18 years of age must leave the Ark".  The plan was named Hundred, and the chairman sent them to earth near Washington D.C. to confirm whether people can make a home or not.  

After the 100 prisoners arrived on earth, they were supposed to depend on supplies and shelter from  the military base near Mt.Weather, but they arrived far from their destination.  They act violently against each other at first, but some of them were killed, so they started to cooperated with each other.  They found the existance of survivors from the nuclear war.  For example, some survivors were called Grounders who were arming.  Another type of survivors are called Reapers who were  fresh-eating and Mountain Men who were mystery.

I think this series is simple and interesting but sometimes there are grotesque scenes.  So you should  not watch during a meal.  You can rent 1~2 seasons.  If you're interested in this series, you should watch the trailer and go to TSUTAYA. I recommend it.

ONCE UPON A TIME (2011~)

For my fifth post, I'll introduce "ONCE UPON A TIME"

This fantasy story takes place in the town of Storybrooke, Maine.  The main characters are Emma Swan, Henry and the central characters of fairy stories, such as Snow White, Evil Queen, Prince Charming, Rumplestiltskin and so on.  They live in the real world that forgot their background.  They used to live in the Enchanted Forest, but the Evil Queen transported them to the real world by using  magic instructed by Rumplestiltskin.  

In the Enchanted Forest, the Evil Queen appeared at the wedding ceremony of Snow White and Prince Charming, she said 'I'll cast a magic hex on everyone and the happy end will be mine'.  Then her magic set everything in motion, and almost everyone was ransported to the real world and became normal people.

After 28 years, in Boston, Emma Swan grew up as an orphan and celebrated her birthday alone.  Suddenly, a boy visited her named Henry.  He said, 'I'm your son born 10 years ago' and he showed her a big picture book. She didn't believe it, so she drove him to his house in Storybrooke.  On the way home, he insisted on the real occurrence drawn in the big picture book 'Fairy Story'.  His stepmother is the Evil Queen, his school teacher Mary is Snow White, John Doe sleeping in a coma in the hospital is Prince Charming and their daughter is Emma.  He thought that she could solve the hex.  Emma was going to go back to Boston, but she was asked anxiously by Henry 'Please stay here just one week'.  She accepted it and checked into a hotel.  As soon as she entered the hotel, the town changed step by step.  The existence of Emma tamped down the effect of the hex.

I think this series is interesting, but it's a little difficult because the real world story and the fairy story are mixed.  The best high spot is the real world draws on the picture book just the same.  This series puts in a little bit of the flavor of Disney, so if you like Disney, you should watch it.  This series has 5 seasons now, but you can rent 1 and 2 seasons only.  If you're interested in this story, you should watch the trailer on You Tube and go to TSUTAYA soon.

GOTHAM (2014~)

For my fourth post, I'll introduce "GOTHAM".

This is an action and crime story.  This story is mainly about James Gordon is adolescence and Bruce Wayne is boyhood in the city of GOTHAM.  The main characters are James Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Fish Mooney, Don Falcon and Don Maroni.

James Gordon is a new recruit in the GCPD (Gotham City Police Department).  He is paired with veteran detective Harvey Bullock.  They're conducting an investigation of the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.  During their investigation, James meets Bruce Wayne.  He is Wayne's son and now in the care of his butler Alfred.  After James meets Bruce, he promises "I'll surely arrest the killer.  While James continues his investigation, he becomes involved with the mafia and gangsters Fish Mooney, Don Falcon, Don Maroni and Ozwald Cobblepot.  Ozwald is also known as the Penguin.  They're very important people, so please remember them.  This series includes Batman villains, the Penguin, the Riddler, Cat Woman, the Joker, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Hugo Strange, Two-Face and Mr.Freeze.  These cases show how Bruce will become the Batman.

I think this series is interesting, but it's a little difficult.  The best high spot is that James solves many cases, but he learns about the mafia and gangsters each time along the way.  This series is kind of new so it has season 1 only.  If you're interested in this series, you should watch the trailer on YouTube and go to TSUTAYA soon.  I recommend it!

UNDER THE DOME (2013~)

For my third post, I'll introduce "UNDER THE DOME".

This is Science Fiction  and a mystery story  based on a Stephen King novel.  There was a country town called Chester's Mill. The main characters are Barbie, a former American soldier.  Julia is a former journalist.  Big Jim is the town manager.  Junior is his son, and so on.  They're not acquaintances, but by, necessity, that meet each other.  

One day, a part of the town is suddenly covered by mystery dome.  The dome is made of transparent  glass,and it has electromagnetic rays and doesn't let in any sonic waves.  After the town is covered by the mystery dome, several natural phenomenon occur.  For example, rain, acid rain, dust storms and a decline of temperature happen.  Then supplies fade away, so people became distressed.  Due to that happening, people killed other town people and backstabbing occurred. Bad things continued.  I wonder if they could get out from the mystery dome.

I think this series is easy to understand, so everyone can enjoy watching it.  If you watch the first episode, you will become carried away by this series.  This series has 3 seasons. You can rent 1~2 seasons, but season 3 is webcasting now, so you can't rent it yet.  Of course, I haven't watched it yet. LOST (2004~2010)

For my second post, I'll introduce "LOST".

This is  thriller, SF, adventure and mystery story.  One day, Oceanic Airlines  Flight 815 from Sydney to Los Angeles crashed on an island in the southern pacific.  There were 48 survivors that  hoped a rescue team would come.  They waited a long time, but rescuers didn't come.  At nightfall, there were many unnatural phenomenons. For example, a polar bear lives in the jungle, among other strange occurences.

Among the survivors, there was a man who was competent doctor. His name is Jack.  He became the leader because he saved many people.  Also among the survivors, Kate is a woman who is a killer.  Sawyer is a swindler.  Sayid is a soldier.  Locke is a man of mystery and so on.  They decided to escape from the island by themselves.  

In the stories, the past of  each survivor is revoaled little by little.  This series has many mysteries, so I felt excited every time.  The appeal of this series is the relationship of the survivors to each other.  Keywords in this series are secret, truth, love and cooperation.  

This series has 6 seasons.  I've only watched Season 1 so far, so I can't tell you the summary of season 2~6. So, let's go to  TSUTAYA.  I recommend.
